Story Teller finished!

This is a class I took from Monika Shedden.  She is a wonderful doll maker from Dundas Ontario.  She is a great teacher-look how detailed Earl is!  This was my first try at free motion embroidery on the cloak and also eye lids for his eyes.  This is my fourth doll.  Thanks to Monika for being patient as I learned these new techniques!

Hermey up close

Hey, you can see all my dust on the first pic of Hermey.  You can tell I am too busy to do housework-LOL

Hermey!

This is another Monika Shedden design and class.  How cute is he?!  Remember that poor little Elf on Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer that wanted to be a dentist?

kitty

This is the Kitty Wilemina is holding.  How cute!

Wilemina

I made Wilemina in Oct, but did not get a chance to take photos and post until now.  This is a class I attended.  Wilemina is a Monika Shedden design.  Isn't Monika a wonderful teacher!?

Yikes

Yikes, I haven't posted in a month!  I have been stamping though.  I will post some of the cards in the next day or two.  I am still working on Christmas cards with the occasional Fall and Halloween card as well.  Stay tuned.

Fairy Mistletoe

This is one of my Christmas card designs for this year.  I thought I would go non-traditional with a design.  Fairy stamp is from Third Coast Rubber Stamps.  They have some beautiful images.

Is Summer coming to an end?

I can't believe it is September and I am thinking about Christmas card designs!  It rained this morning, but it is so nice and sunny now that I was inspired to create a butterfly and flower card.  Stamps are by Stampin Up and Hero Arts.  This is "Zindorf" style.  Grab a cup of coffee and check out Michelle Zindorf''s website (one of my fave links).  You will be amazed.

Evangeline's sweet face

Evangeline's face is hand painted with mostly acrylic paints, chalks and some coloured pencils.  My last doll (Alice) looks like her makeup has been smeared...lol.  I have learned a little bit since then.

Evangeline and her caged fairy.

This little fairy in the cage was sculpted from clay and then painted.

Evangeline the Fairy Catcher is finished!

This is the second cloth doll I have made.  I'm very happy with how she turned out.  She was a ton of fun to make.  This is a Cindee Moyer pattern.

Espressly for you

My friend Nicola and I got together Sunday and did some stamping.  This is a coffee-themed card that I made.  Stamps are from Impression Obsession and an unknown manufacturer.  We had a great stamping day!

Summer Fun

This card was made for a Swap on ORSA (a yahoo group I belong too.  The theme was Fun in the Summer Sun (rain).  I have had a great summer even though it has rained quite a bit.  I have enjoyed all the beautiful storms we have had.  I hope you too have had a great summer.  This stamping set is from My Favorite Things called "Rain and Shine".  Thanks for looking.

Index cards

I wanted to keep the cards I made for people's special occasions organized and ready to mail out.  I made index cards.  The front of the index card is removable and has the person's special  occasion and date for that month.  Hope you like it.

Cake!

I saw this card demo'd at Angela's on Saturday.  It is shaped like a piece of cake.  Very neat idea Angela!  This store located in Dundas, Ontario Canada has free demos every Saturday.

This card is inspired by Michelle Zindorf's work.  Check out her blog-I have it on my sidebar.

Fairy in her cage

Next we constructed a cage for our little fairy.  She isn't too happy about being placed in the cage though....

Little Fairy for the Fairy Catcher Doll.

The little fairy is sculpted out of clay.  I used Premo.  I then painted her with a turquoise paint, added clothing, beads and wings.  How cute is that?!

New doll

I'm in the process of making a new doll.  It is an online class given by Cindee Moyer through www.joggles.com.  You can see the doll we are making here.  This is such a fabulous class.  The instructions are well written and you get a password to the forums to ask your teacher and fellow doll makers questions.  I'm so excited.

Make a Wish

This card was made using the "You Take the Cake" clear stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I paper pieced her dress.  The cake is coloured with alcohol based markers (Prisma).  I am loving this type of marker.  I used Perfect Pearls for the icing on the cake.

Cupcakes are hot right now.  Here are three from the clear stamp set "Hey There Cupcake" by Stampendous.  This style is inspired by Michelle Zindorf.  I have a link to her blog down the right hand side on my blog.

Creamsicle

These are Creamsicles.  My Stampin Up demonstrator Lori-Ann Bartel's taught me how to do this card.  I stamped "orange you glad I didn't say banana" on the inside.  Lots of fun.

What's the Word, Bird.

This is a fun clear stamp set from Inkadinkado called "The Aviary Assortment"

Hare past your birthday

I made this card for my brother using the Birthday Banter Stampin Up set.  The poor guy!  His birthday was a month ago!  Hopefully he will forgive his big sister.

Vases

This card was made using a Penny Black clear set of stamps.

Birthday Pickup!

This stamp set is from Stampin Up.  It is a nice "boy card".  With so many flowers and feminine stamps, sometimes it is hard to make a boy card.

Herd It's Your Birthday

This is another card from My Favorite Things "Punny Farm".  Inside it says "Herd it's your Birthday".  Too funny.  Instead of masking the cows, I should have done them with Versamark marker and clear embossing powder.  Learn by playing!

Three Sheep

The sheep stamp is from My Favorite Things.  Love this "Punny Farm" set

General Post

I haven't had much time to play in the craft room.  We have been busy picking out patio furniture.  This is our first summer that we will be able to use our backyard.  Brian (bf) has been working very hard on the gardens.  They are shaping up quite nicely.

Pink quilled flower

I haven't done any quilling for a while.  I got a bit rusty at it.  This is just a simple little card.

Kewpie Note

What a cute stamp set!  I'm not sure why these little kewpies attract my attention, but they do.  This stamp set is from www.clearartstamps.com

Crocodile Hello

Cute Stampin Up set-"In the Wild".

Piece of Cake birthday

This is another brass stencil.  You can never go wrong with chocolate cake!  The paper was sanded after it was dry embossed.

Birthday Cupcake

This is a brass stencil of a cupcake.  I dry embossed the lower part, then coloured with chalks.  The frosting is 'whipped paper fluff'.  It adds great dimension to your artwork.

Cover of Board book

Board book-tiny book open

I placed a tiny book in the hole of the board book. Here it is open.

Final Layout in the board book

This is the final layout in the board book. The buckle is shown closed here. It opens another tiny book. The quote is written again in the tiny book. This tutorial was hosted by the moderator of ABCanada, an altered book yahoo group. I had a great time exploring different mediums in this project.

More Blue Birds

I am having fun with this technique. If you haven't checked out Michelle Zindorf's work, you should. She will inspire you too!

Blue birds

This was inspired by Michelle Zindorf's work. Check out her blog. She is an amazing artist.

Alice all dressed up!

This is Alice all finished. This was such a neat project to work on. I didn't have the proper pencils and pens for the face, so don't look too closely! I have learned a lot as this was my first try at making a cloth doll.

Alice in her Camiknickers

Alice even has under pants!

Doll Clothes

These are my doll's clothes. I named the doll Alice. She has a hat, blouse, jacket, skirt and camiknickers. How cute is that?!

Doll body

This is my first cloth doll. She was interesting to make. This is the body.

Isn't he beautiful! My sister is holding him.

Sunday

I made a little art last night.  If I have time I will post later on.  Today we are off to a flea market, groceries and some laundry.  Sometimes life gets in the way!  I will bring the camera to the flee market.  My bf has a GREAT eye when it comes to photography.

Alcohol Inks and Bicycle

I haven't been good at updating my blog however, I have been creating some art.  The background is alcohol inks (I cannot remember what colour combo).  The bicycle stamp is from Art Impressions.

Board book-3rd layout

This is layout number three.  This layout involved adding texture.  That is cheesecloth in the centre of the page.  I thought it looked a little bland, but if I add anything else I think it may take away from the texture.  Crackle paint is the brown stuff on the right.  When you look closely, this is really kool stuff.
